Venture a little further a field (about 40 mins drive) and you'll find the wineries in the Moffatdale area near Murgon.  Taste the wine at Moffatdale Ridge Wines or join their Tuscan Feast on the last Sunday of every month.  Open 7 days 10am - 4pm

If you are in town during the week you MUST visit the Endeavour Foundations Kingaroy Kitchen.  They have a fabulous range of goumet quality foods made from genuine homestyle recipes.  They offer a free tour of the factory and you'll also get a free coffee and a chat.  Their range includes homestyle biscuits, jams, chutneys, dukkah and the list keeps growing every day - all perfect for that take home gift.

To celebrate that special occasion try the Bello Vista Restaurant (previously known as The Belltower) for a long lazy lunch.  It is on the way to Crane Wines and has the 2nd best view (next to ours!) in the area.  Open Tuesday to Saturday 10am till late and Sunday fom 8.30 - 5pm.  For bookings phone 41627632
 
In Kingaroy the choice for lunch or dinner would have to be Accents Restaurant in Alford Street.  Open for dinner Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm and lunch Tuesday to Friday 9 - 2.30pm.  Check their menus on the website and phone 41622990 to book.
 
Another favourite is Ruby's Restaurant at the Broadway Hotel in Kingaroy Street.  One of the oldest pubs in town, the new owners have done a wonderful job of creating a fine dining experience and the word is that its weekend breakfasts are great - You won't find any poker machines in this hotel!  Phone 41621815.

Closer to home visit
Sunny Ridge Gardens.  For a small donation you can wander through acres of gardens and walking tracks or Relax at the Ridge on one of their afternoons of fine food and drinks whilst being entertained.  Check their website for upcoming events.

For a day trip why not visit the Bunya Mountains - the largest remaining area of Bunya Pines in the world.  It's a 50 minute drive from Hillview and there is a number of rainforest walks and picnic areas.

Visit
Bethany - Kingaroy's most famous farm and home to the Bjelke-Petersen family.  Do a tour of the property on Wednesday or Saturday for just $10 per person and enjoy an afternoon tea of their famous pumpkin scones.  Advance bookings essential.

And don't forget all those country golf courses in the district.  Play a relaxing round for a fraction of the price of metropolitan courses.  Kingaroy has a great 18 hole golf course.  Check out their
